Wall Street goes 3D

Article Abstract:

The New York Stock Exchange has launched a 3D virtual trading floor using latest technology, including Silicon Graphics Onyx workstations which offer continuously updated trading information in three dimensions. The virtual trading floor has composite modelling of each trade, permitting employees to follow how busy the networks are and to be aware of potential stress points. It is hoped that additional realism will be offered in the long-term through virtual reality headsets.
