Why Nazi trials must end

Article Abstract:

The US Court of Appeal has disclosed that prosecutors withheld vital evidence in the Nazi trial of John Demjanjuk in 1986. Demjanjuk was extradited to Israel after being found guilty of being the gas chamber operator at Treblinka concentration camp in Poland called 'Ivan the Terrible'. The main reason why Demjunjuk was convicted was because he stated that his mother's maiden name was Marchenko. Documents showed that there was an Ivan Marchenko at the camp. However, Demjanjuk's mother's maiden name was Tabachyk. It is certain that Demjanjuk was a SS soldier but not 'Ivan the Terrible'.

John Demjanjuk is not innocent

Article Abstract:

John Demjanjuk was acquitted by the Supreme Court of Israel in Jul 1993 as it was unconvinced that he was Ivan the Terrible, the Ukrainian responsible for appalling conduct in the German concentration camp Treblinka. The identification procedure in Israel in 1976 was questionable. Demjanjuk was an SS auxiliary and served at two extermination camps and two concentration camps. He has lived a life of lies since May 1945 in order to enter the US. Ignat Danilchenko's testimony, which would have cleared Demjanjuk, was not passed to the Israelis.

A second miracle in Germany

Article Abstract:

West Germans lived with a sense of moral and civic responsibility until racial unrest and violent neo-Nazi actions made them insecure. Publicity in the media encourages these groups to continue. West Germany has forbidden Nazi agitators from the country. Thousands of ordinary people have demonstrated against racism in Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and other cities since Oct 03, 1992.
