Why Rabin will be mourned by no Palestinians

Article Abstract:

The recent assassination of Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin has generally not been a great cause for regret among Palestinians, who view his actions against their people very negatively. However, the murder is not really likely to bring any benefits for PLO leader Yasser Arafat, who will have to negotiate with a weaker Shimon Peres. Arafat is likely to come under pressure to make more concessions, but there is little cause for optimism about the peace process at present.

Show me his socks ... the desperate plea of a mother in Banja Luka's warehouse of death

Article Abstract:

A warehouse in Banja Luka, Bosnia, contains the remains of 107 Serb soldiers and civilians, many of whom appear to have been beaten shortly before being murdered. They were placed in a mass grave by Croatian troops just before the end of the civil war in Bosnia. Police officers in the town braved minefields to retrieve the bodies of their fellow Serbs, and families are now being called into identify their dead relatives.

Colonel Muammar Gadaffi has announced plans to expel 1 million expatriate workers from Libya. This will include 650 Palestinians who are currently trapped on a car ferry, having been forced to leave Libya but denied entry to Syria. The move is part of Gadaffi's efforts to force the United Nations to lift sanctions on Libya in order that international air links with Benghazi and Tripoli can be restored.
