Why they threw caution to a 100mph wind

Article Abstract:

British mountaineer Alison Hargreaves and five fellow mountaineers succeeded in reaching the summit of K2 without oxygen on Aug 13, 1995, but soon afterwards they were all to die, along with another climber who had tried to turn back before reaching the summit. Many observers are now asking searching questions about how this tragedy could have happened. It is clear that the severe weather conditions were responsible for their deaths, but it is not clear why the group, all very experienced mountaineers, decided to go ahead with the climb even when they knew that it would be very dangerous.

Fall of a butcher they called a good man

Article Abstract:

Scottish butcher John Barr was highly respected in the town of Wishaw, Scotland, where he ran a very successful business. He had even been chosen as Scottish Butcher of the Year. When it was discovered that his shop was the source of a serious outbreak of food poisoning, local people initially sympathised with him. However, this mood has now changed following the revelation that he continued to supply meats after he had been twice requested by environmental health officers not to do so.

This information is obtained from consumers who fill in questionnaires, and can be extremely detailed.
