Yes, it's nannyish, but remember what we said about seat belts

Article Abstract:

There has been extensive criticism in the UK of the growing tendency for the government to ban certain items. It has recently imposed a ban on beef on the bone, and there are rumours that it is considering banning unpasteurised milk and certain exotic fruit. Many observers feel that such bans severely infringe upon individual freedom and that people should be allowed to decide for themselves whether they are prepared to live with the risks associated with certain products. However, it is important to remember that some bans, even though they may seem to restrict individual freedom, are actually for the good of society.

The return of a nightmare

Article Abstract:

Some of the Germans who were expelled from family homes in Poland in 1945 are now submitting claims for the return of their property. This trend is creating considerable concern among the Poles who now live in the homes which the Germans were forced to abandon. Many Poles believe that the Germans have no right to make such claims, especially given the extent of German brutality towards Poles following the invasion of Poland in 1939. They feel that the Germans are already much richer than them, and do not believe that Germans should be allowed to benefit from cheap agricultural land in Poland.
