You're as sharp as a pin, but how high's your EQ?

Article Abstract:

It has become very common to place great emphasis on intellectual ability, with intelligence tests being considered very important. However, some experts are now beginning to challenge this approach, claiming that emotional ability should be ranked at least as highly as intellectual ability. Research has found that emotions play a very important role in the decision-making process, as making a decision based on pure reason is almost impossible. Emotional intelligence covers qualities such as having empathy with others, understanding personal feelings and being able to control impulses.

The lust that dare not speak its name

Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly recognised that it is common for children who have been adopted at a young age to feel sexually attracted towards their natural parent if a reunion takes place in later life. Experts recognise that this is the result of a natural, biological attraction, but it is an issue which society in general and post-adoption counsellors in particular find hard to address. Very little research has been undertaken on this subject, and it is hard to assess how far sexual attraction actually goes between individual parents and children.

Carl Jung: a 'psychic pyramid seller.' (new views on influence of Carl Jung)

Article Abstract:

Carl Jung, one of the founders of the psychoanalytical movement, has always had a positive image, being regarded as approachable and offering some meaning for the modern world. However, a new book by Dr Richard Noll challenges this view of Jung. It claims that Jung told lies about the case history which supplied vital evidence for his theory of the Collective Unconscious. It also states that Jung set himself up as a cult leader and that he even identified himself with Jesus.
