Cold compaction of composite powders

Article Abstract:

Results show that densification behavior of composite soft and hard copper and tungsten powders under cold isostatic pressing and die compaction conditions exhibit same size and spherical shape but different hardening characteristics.

Densification behavior of ceramic powder under cold compaction

Article Abstract:

A hyperbolic cap model along with the finite element method is presented for the analysis of zirconia powder under die compaction. The relationship between compaction and ejection pressure indicates a friction coefficient of 0.2 for the zirconia powder.

An optimal container design for metal powder under hot isostatic pressing

Article Abstract:

The constitutive model of Abouaf and co-workers was implemented into a finite element analysis to stimulate densification and deformation of a powder compact in a container during hot isostatic pressing. An optimal design technique based on the evaluation schemes of the design sensitivity was used to acquire the desired final shape of a powder compact.
