Apoptosis: the way for science centers to thrive

Article Abstract:

The idea of apoptosis is that, an organization that is aiming at helping people to learn should itself behave as a learning organism, and the concept suggests that to be a useful metaphor for the management of modern science centers. Benefits and drawbacks of this approach are also discussed with an example of networked Exploratorium in its stage of development in 2001.

Training students on the TRIZ method using a patent database

Article Abstract:

TRIZ (Russian Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) is a method used for developing better ways of teaching invention to young students with little engineering experience. The students were able to get specialized solutions easily with the help of this method and after their training they invented a new type of ski vibration test stand.

A tool for systematic assessment of customer needs in industrial markets

Article Abstract:

A systematic tool is developed for assessing the industrial products based on realized real-world applications in different industries. Several benefits related to the extension of customer needs analysis were observed in the different phases of utilizing the tool, and new customer needs and business opportunities were recognized.
