The project aims to determine how native animals respond to fire in order to improve biodiversity conservation. Dr. David lindenmayer and his project team will assess the response of animals to documented historic fires, a well as to prescribed burns in the coming years.

The project investigates the evolutionary causes and ecological consequences of cooperative behavior. The project explains that closely related animals could benefit genetically by having some shared genes passed on in the young they helped nurture.

Lemurs and forests of Madagascar

Article Abstract:

The project studies the effects of catastrophic forest disturbance in Madagascar on threatened lemurs. The research team will study the behavioral ecology of black-and-white ruffed Lemurs following catastrophic cyclone Gretelle.
