Boat race

Article Abstract:

The world shipping industry continues to develop to meet the needs of its customers and in response to new technology. Speed is one of the major developments in some markets, particularly on short sea passenger trips, with some vessels capable of average speeds of 30-40 knots. However, average speed has reduced in the large container ships market because of the move from steam turbines to diesel, The cruise ship market is particularly buoyant and the larger vessels are able to accommodate more than 3,000 passengers. IT is set to be a major influence on the industry in the future.
