Raising the roof

Article Abstract:

Sophisticated construction techniques aided in the aesthetic construction of the $58 million Mobile County Government Plaza's atrium roof in Alabama, which has two Warren trusses and nine double-bow trusses spanning 240 and 140 ft respectively. These trusses were carefully built in pairs to be resistant to corrosion and allow joints to expand and contract between the building and the roof-trusses.
