Caltrans to address highway runoff

Article Abstract:

A settlement of a long-standing lawsuit between the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Natural Resources Defense Council and the Santa Monica Baykeeper requires incorporating a variety of techniques by Caltrans to control and treat storm-water runoff on projects to build new highways. Caltrans intends to see if storm-water concerns need to be addressed at new and existing sites.

Intelligent transportation system deployed on Kansas City highway

Article Abstract:

Kansas Department of Transportation and the Missouri Department of Transportation are jointly operating an intelligent transportation system known as Kansas City Scout on 75 continuous miles of Kansas City highways. The system designed by Black & Veatch, of Overland Park, KansasEs focuses on improving safety, reducing congestion and decrease travel times on some of the congested highways.

Omnibus bill boosts transportation, cuts water funding sharply

Article Abstract:

The funding policy of the United State government on different aspects like highway funding, clean water is discussed. There was an increase in the allocation of funds in transport section but a reduction in the water funding.
