Canned heat

Article Abstract:

Computer simulation of manufacturing processes is performed to produce 'right first time' designs. Consulting engineers Wilde and Partners acts as UK and Ireland agent for various simulation packages for the metal forming and metal forging processes. One of the firm's main products is Design Environment for FORMing (DEFORM), developed by Scientific Forming Technologies. This computer simulation product simulates die fill, material flow, forging load and defect formation in warm, cold and hot forming processes, thus enhancing product quality and performance while compressing time-to market.

The Standards for Managing Energy, developed by the British Gas, Management Charter Initiative and the Electricity Association led by the Best Practice program, will enable efficient energy usage in the UK. Efficient energy management requires technological improvements, motivation of people and skills training. Energy management involves planning strategies, implementing the programs and building policies for buying energy. The knowledge of communication and presentation skills and organizational structure can help put the issue on a company's agenda.

A model for maturing markets

Article Abstract:

Destabilizing commodity cycles in any industry can be circumvented by a proposed computer simulation based on systems dynamics developed by Henry Birdseye Weil, a senior lecturer at MIT's Sloan School of Management. The simulation which was adapted initially for airline industry deregulation is deemed to solve the dynamics of feedback correlations existing between the economic and industry variables.
