Chicago group files plans for world's tallest building
Article Abstract:
Real estate developer European American Realty Ltd and architectural and engineering firm Skidmore Owings and Merrill have filed an application and drawings with the Chicago Planning and Development Dept for the license to build the world's tallest building. the 1,537 ft or 468 m, 112-story building would be supported completely by a concrete core and be topped out with two 463-ft or 141-m antennas. Its roof will surpass that of the world's tallest building, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by 54 ft or 16.5 m.
