Coffee talk

Article Abstract:

Coffee has become the second most widely traded commodity in the world. The demand for coffee has also led to the development of agricultural techniques that are damaging to the environment. Issues about coffee were discussed at the annual meeting of the American Assn. for the Advancement of Science.

Article Abstract:

Research on the nonverbal characteristics of speech has linked vocal quality on the low-frequency spectrum of the voice with social status. Results of this research showed that celebrities' voices tended to cluster. Among the more prominent ones included in the cluster were George Bush and Clinton.

There has been a growing body of research suggesting that maggots possess therapeutic properties. Specifically, researchers believe that maggots can be used to treat infected or necrotic wounds by releasing antibacterial agents to fight flesh-eating bacteria.
