Over the top concrete

Article Abstract:

Roller-compacted concrete (RCC) is the main construction material used in the $850,000 rehabilitation of Montana's existing Tongue River Dam. Four types of RCC mixes from locally-mined aggregates, with concrete contents between 150 and 325 lb/cu yd, have water-reducing and air entrainment agents incorporated. The project, which will be completed in spring 1999, includes a large RCC over-the-top emergency spillway that will raise the height of the reservoir and increase its capacity.
