Containing the Cold War's hot waste

Article Abstract:

High-energy jet grouting agents whose thermodynamic stability is known to last for thousands of years can be injected beneath earth pits containing radioactive wastes. The US Department of Energy buried approximately 4 mil cubic yards of radioactive waste generated during the Cold War and the potential for contamination is significant.
