Constructions specifications often require particular types of equipment or material furnished and installed by particular manufacturers. The contract between the district and Allied Construction Associates, Inc. specified the installation of a particular type of Honeywell temperature control equipment, which Diamond "B" Constructors, Inc. had included in its bid.

False start: When a design/build relationship fails at the outset

Article Abstract:

While contemplating a design/build relationship one should remember that without due care in early business negotiations, a dispute between team members can rear its ugly head even before a project team. An example of such a dispute that occurred between the Trident Construction Co. Inc, and Austin Company originating in South Caroline is presented.
