Membrane-bound diiron carboxylate proteins

Article Abstract:

Based on conservation of six amino acids constituting an iron-binding motif, four proteins are identified as diiron carboxylate proteins. The details and expectations of each enzyme based on their identification as interfacially bound proteins with a diiron carboxylate active site are discussed.

Transport mechanisms for organic forms of carbon and nitrogen between source and sink

Article Abstract:

Specific transport systems are responsible for vacuolar uptake and release, for efflux from the cells and for uptake into the vasculature. Sugar and amino acids are generated in plants by assimilation from inorganic forms.
