Deadline nears for aviation funding bill

Article Abstract:

Congress is inching towards a multibillion dollar reauthorization of federal aviation programs even as the deadline for final action approaches. However, the future of the US civil aviation infrastructure relies for the most part on the Senate, which has not to date been able to discuss legislation that will, among other things, re-authorize money for the FAA. Congress has only until Aug 6, 1999 to complete its work on competing legislation to re-authorize the FAA and the Aviation Trust Fund.
