Design revolution

Article Abstract:

Most industries are focusing on the need to form closer collaborative links within supply chains, but the full potential of the approach is being obstructed by technological and cultural constraints. To address such problems, Warwick Manufacturing Group's International Manufacturing Centre has held an event designed to show how Internet technology and other communications advances can make an important impact on business. Delegates at the event also heard the results of a two-year collaboration between car makers, suppliers, academic institutions and software vendors aimed at seeking ways to improve partnerships in the automotive sector.
