Drinking water: EPA releases final rules for disinfection by-products, cryptosporidium

Article Abstract:

The details pertaining to the regulations issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), with an aim to reduce levels of disinfection by-products (DBPs) in treated water, are presented. The rules in the legislation call for utilities serving atleast 10,000 people to test for cryptosporidium.

Columbia river dredging project gains final approval

A final approval to deepen the Columbia River by 3 feet was issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after laying a condition that all environmental laws in this context will be strictly complied with. Details regarding the cost of the project and its composition are given.
