Effect of various factors on dehalogenization of chlorinated phenols and anilines during oxidative coupling

Article Abstract:

The influence of different reaction conditions on the dehalogenation patterns of chlorinated phenols incubated with peroxidase and T. versicolor laccase was analyzed. The dehalogenation patterns for oxidative coupling of chlorinated phenols are also investigated. The results showed that insufficient generation of free radicals and a decrease in the dehalogenation of chlorinated phenols may result from short reaction time, inappropriate pH conditions or inadequate catalyst.

Analysis of soil-bound residues of 13C-labeled fungicide cyprodinil by NMR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The absorption and subsequent degradation of the fungicide cyprodinil in soil was examined using 13C-NMR spectroscopy. A significant amount of the fungicide and its intermediate were found bound with the humic acid fraction of the soil. Cyprodinil was found to be cleaved into two portions, the aromatic ring portion, and the pyrimidyl/phenyl portion that was found in association with the humic portion.

Redox interactions of Cr(VI) and substituted phenols: products and mechanism

Article Abstract:

Aqueous oxidation-reduction interactions between Cr(VI) and RArOH were investigated using kinetic analysis to determine the reaction products and intermediaries. The results show that chromate ester intermediates are formed by the rapid preoxidative equilibrium betwen HCrO4 and RArOH forms. The rate-limiting ester decomposition proceeded through innersphere electron transfer.
