A bright spark?
Article Abstract:
Spark plug design is changing after a century of stability, in response to environmental laws and to take advantage of new materials and concepts. Champion's new design uses copper on the ground electrode and widens the plug's base, increasing spark area, cooling the electrode, and permitting a larger gap. NGK found a way to overcome carbon deposits. Israeli engineers managed to design in a 'wind' blowing past the electrodes to increase efficiency.

Article Abstract:
A new sports car, Diablo, manufactured at the Lamborghini car factory in Italy involved the use of computer-aided design, although the car was manufactured by traditional methods. All the processes in the Lamborghini car factory are not modernized, and the methods adopted in the 1960s are still used. However, with the entry of designer Luigi Marmiroli, computers have been introduced in the designing of luxury sports cars.
