Evaluation of 2, 3, 7, 8, Specific Congener and Toxic Potency of Persistent Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-Dioxins and Polychlorinated Dibenzofurans in Cetaceans from the Mediterranean Sea, Italy

Article Abstract:

Results from the study of the livers of cetaceans beached on the coasts of Italy from 1987-1992, in order to determine if chlorinated compounds were responsible for unusually high dolphin mortality rates.

Decline in PCDD and PCDF levels in sewage sludges from Catalonia (Spain)

Article Abstract:

Researchers from Barcelona, Spain investigated the decline of PCDD and PCDF levels in 19 sewage sludges from wastewater treatment plants using HRGC-HRMS in Catalonia since the 1980s. They also described the variations in isometric distributions which may reflect changes in sources of PCDD and PCDF to the environment.
