Floating in space

Article Abstract:

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is using computer technologies and high-tech materials to develop balloons that for use in high-altitude research. The Ultra Long Duration Balloon project could be a step towards using balloons to explore other planets.

The Ulysses mission

Article Abstract:

The Ulysses mission enabled scientists to unlock the secrets of the sun's corona and the nature of the solar magnetic field. The mission is the first of its kind as it is a space probe sent on a polar orbit around the sun to prove some scientific theories.

North to Mars! To pave the way for a mission to Mars, a band of scienists decided to go to the Canadian Arctic

A group of NASA scientists established a research center on Devon Island in the Canadian Arctic because of the area's similarity to Mars in its environment, geology and biology. The results of the research, simulation and the facility are described.
