"Green" manufacturing: one part at a time

Article Abstract:

Researchers at the Consortium on Green Design and Manufacturing at the University of California, Berkeley are developing process analysis software aimed at encouraging industrial manufacturers to consider the environmental implications of products on the drawing board. Mechanical designers and industrial engineers will see from the models the importance of the precise designing of products. With the development of the software , it will be much easier for designer to make the necessary changes to a product that does not meet environmental standards.
