Article Abstract:

The yellow-breasted chat, a variety of warbler native to the grasslands of Canada, is currently facing threats of extinction. Most noted for the loud rattle sounds they produce, several species are capable of holding food through the use of their feet.

The stuff of legends: prized for its fur, the wolverine is an increasingly rare sight in its northern haunts

Article Abstract:

The wolverine population of Canada has declined due to decreases in food supply, wolf poisoning campaigns and legal harvests. The wolverine has been designated as a vulnerable species in Canada and as endangered east of the Hudson Bay.

Issues are presented concerning the changes in climate which have decimated the populations of caribou in Canada's northernmost territory. Severe winters are occurring with increasing frequency causing starvation among the herds.
