Lockheed Martin Corp. is incorporating electrochromic plates in its Joint Strike Fighter design to produce visual stealth. Sensors in the plane's surface will modulate the color of the electrochromic plates depending on the sky's brightness and hue.

Switchblade fighter bomber

The development of the US. Air Force's replacement for the swing-wing F-111 is set to be made public. The versatile aircraft, nicknamed Switchblade, has a pivoting forward-sweeping wing, enabling it to be used both as a bomber and a fighter.
