Imperial English: the language of science?

Article Abstract:

The dominance of the English language in science may decline with US scientific leadership. Although the lexicon of the English language suits scientific communications particularly well, it was leadership rather than lexicon that led to the dominance of English in scientific disciplines.

Women and the discourse of science

Women wish to be acknowledged as equals in scientific endeavors, even though the field of science has historically been thought of in male-dominated terms. Contemporary views have noticeably changed, but women want the progress to step up.

Metaphors provide help to understand a scientific idea. Sometimes a metaphor is not always accurate, but it provides help to understand an idea. The problems caused by scientific metaphors are described.
