Information flows in the diffusion of pharmaceutical audit in England

Article Abstract:

The UK instituted pharmaceutical audit in 1993 following the government White Paper in 1989. Pharmaceutical audit was facilitated in hospitals where pharmacists worked in professional teams and where there was informal learning. Many professionals in community pharmacy are isolated and in competition with one another. Formal information channels are not effective in motivating, building confidence and transferring of know-how in the implementation of audit.
