Kinetics of trace element complexation with suspended matter and with filterable ligands in freshwater

Article Abstract:

Relatively specific natural ligands in low concentrations appear to be an important controlling mechanism in trace element speciation at the water surface. A study of the trace elements Fe, Zn, Mn, Co, Ag, Cd and Cs within rich organic river water from the Vienne River in France was conducted to determine the elements' binding properties and the kinetics of the speciation occurring in the filterable phase. River water samples were taken in early summer 1995 and in winter 1995.
