Limiting liability

Article Abstract:

Engineering organizations, due to their mistakes, lose assets that could exceed the total worth of the firm. If the organization is unable to pay for damages, the engineers involved in the error are required to surrender their personal assets to the claimants. Engineers, however, have successfully restricted their chances for errors, which are generally covered by professional liability insurance.

Insurance and the environmental engineer

Article Abstract:

Engineering/contracting firms are adopting risk control and risk financing strategies to counter the strict federal legislations of their environmental operations and protect themselves from today's litigious society with aggressive environmentalists. These firms are equipping themselves with protection in the form of extensive insurance cover to deal with any eventualities leading to litigations.

Covering your liability

Article Abstract:

Twenty-six percent of professional engineering firms are affected by approximately one claim every year, necessitating insurance protection for such firms. The professional liability insurance, also known as errors and omissions (E&O), insures against the risk of claims that occur from the firms' inability to render professional service.
