Making cold antimatter

Article Abstract:

Antiparticles have a charge opposite to that of their corresponding particles, and if the two meet, they annihilate releasing large amount of energy. Physicists have succeeded in creating the first relatively slow-moving atoms of antimatter (antiatoms), which could be used to test a fundamental property of the universe known as CPT symmetry and attempts are being made to produce antiatoms at still lower temperatures and in state suitable for spectroscopy.

High-temp knockout

Article Abstract:

Physicists know that paired electrons that gather en masse in a single collective quantum state cause superconductivity in high-temperature superconductors but they do not know what 'glue' causes the pairing. Numerous ideas were proposed but none were proven, however, an experimental study suggests that two important theoretical possibilities can be eliminated.

Seeing single photons: a superconducting way to spot photons one by one

Article Abstract:

Chronic headache or back pain can shrink brain and impair the ability to make decisions, and even effect the neurological changes. A choice making analysis was conducted to evaluate the existence of the disease, and it reveals that consequences of chronic pain will make poor judgment.
