Marine Corps museum to rise in Quantico

Article Abstract:

The construction of the National Museum of the Marine Corps is expected to begin soon in Quantico, Virginia, and it is expected to house the Marine Corps artifacts in several galleries and in central atrium. This museum features a mast extending 210 ft (64 m) into the air and a conical atrium meant to evoke the Iwo Jima flag-raising memorial, which is scheduled to open in November 2005 on the Marine Corp's 230th anniversary.

Supreme Court ends long-standing East Coast water dispute

Article Abstract:

A legal dispute got over between Maryland and Virginia over the ownership of Potomac River, a waterway that passes through the boundaries of the two states, by the Supreme Court in December. Supreme Court has passed an order in this regard that Maryland posses the ownership of the river but cannot restrict Virginia's access to the water.

Structure key to 'floating' plateau of grass in California

A work of art named "Keep off the Grass! Planar Landscape Phenomena" was exhibited in the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Los Angeles. The technical details and the effort involved to make this art form are discussed.
