Article Abstract:

A large number of genes that are expressed during stamen and pollen development are identified during the course of the molecular studies. Genetic analysis have demonstrated the function of some genes in specifying stamina identity, regulating anther cell division and differentiation, controlling male meiosis, supporting pollen development and promoting anther dehiscence.

CO2 concentrating mechanisms in algae: Mechanisms, environmental modulation, and evolution

Article Abstract:

The diversity of CO2 concentrating mechanisms (CCMs), their evolutionary origins, and the role of the environment in CCM modulation is discussed. The first molecular genetic evidence of a role for an aquaporin in CO2 transport in photosynthetic organisms is provided.
