Initial step of flue gas desulfurization - an IR study of the reaction of SO2 with NOx on CaO-

Article Abstract:

Researchers from Hokkaido University, Japan studied the reaction of nitrogen oxide with sulfur dioxide on calcium oxide using infrared spectroscopy and the results will be used for flue gas desulfurization model to prevent acid rain.

Multielemental analysis of purpleback flying squid using high resolution inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (HR ICP-MS)

Article Abstract:

Purpleback flying squid (Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis) are collected in the waters surrounding Iriomote Island, Ryukyu Islands, Japan and the squid's tissues are analyzed using high resolution inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrophotometry. Concentrations of elements in the squids are graphed for different body parts, and for adult versus jeuvenile squids.

Accumulation of perfluorooctane sulfonate in marine mammals

Article Abstract:

This study was used to examine the accumulation of perfluorooctane in 247 tissue samples from 15 species of marine mammals collected from the coastal waters of Florida, California and Alaska. The study is broken down into an introduction, a discussion of the experiment and a discussion of its results. Various tables and graphs accompany the article.
