Multinational enterprises and technology transfer

Article Abstract:

The role of multinational corporations in technology transfer to developing countries is discussed. Specifically, the research and development efforts of multinational corporations are discussed with respect to the location of their R&D facilities, their foreign operations and their contributions to host countries' economic development. From the analysis, it is seen that host countries need to consider the multiple roles of multinational corporations in facilitating technology transfer.

Technological development and the business environment in Russia

Article Abstract:

The current technological decline and tendencies in the Soviet Union are discussed and the specific features of this situation fromprofitable East-West collaborations standpoint are probed. A developmental strategy within the context of change from a centralized to a free market economy is presented. The new strategy provides Soviet manufacturing enterprises with manufacturing and managerial know-how.

Agile manufacturing and technology transfer to industrialising countries

Article Abstract:

The aircraft industry frequently requires agile manufacturing and thus encourages international technology to the industrializing nations. The two types of technology transfers are, technology selling and technology sharing.
