New concrete can monitor itself

Article Abstract:

The details of a study, pioneered by Deborah Chung of the State University of New York at Buffalo, on the importance of sensors, in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, are presented. This can be done by introducing small carbon fibers into the concrete mix, thereby creating a material which incorporates its own sensors.

Researchers study Seismic events on the moon

Article Abstract:

The researchers at the University of Notre Dame are trying to study the seismic behavior of moon to examine the possibility of building structures on the surface of the moon. The researchers are using seismometers installed on the surface of moon for this study and they are also thinking of creating a lunar seismic network.
