Polanyi-based models for the competitive sorption of low-polarity organic contaminants on a natural sorbent

Article Abstract:

Researchers from the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering, The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MA investigates the relationship of organic contaminants with soils and sediments using a nonlinear sorption Polanyi-based isotherm with organic chemicals on a silty aquitard material.

Impacts of heterogenous organic matter on phenanthrene sorption: different aquifer depths

Article Abstract:

Researchers from the University of Okhaloma used organic petrology to explain and predict qualitatively and quantitatively the patterns of phenanthrene sorption for aquifer samples taken from the closed Norman Landfill from the Canadian River Alluvial, a U.S. Geological Survey Toxic Substances Research Site.
