Article Abstract:

Design/build projects pose unique challenges for geotechnical professionals where in the field of geotechnical engineering, only a limited number of project managers are experienced in design/build and are willing to work away from their normal work locations. Geotechnical firms can limit their financial risk by understanding the philosophy of the design/build contracting method and ensuring that they are capable of meeting the demands and shouldering the risks inherent in the process.
