Reflecting Pools chosen to memorialize World Trade Center attack

Article Abstract:

Architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker designed the memorial "Reflecting Absence" that features two below ground pools covering the footprints of the former World Trade Center. The memorial pays tributes to the people who died at World Trade Center, Pentagon, Pennsylvania on September eleventh and to those who were killed in the bombing of the parking garage below the World Trade Center in February 1993.

Final World Trade Center Tower design is safe, 'green,' and sculptural

Article Abstract:

Advanced environmental and safety features are taken into account while designing the Freedom Tower, the centerpiece of the redevelopment of World Trade Center at the southern tip of New York city. Measures like robust fireproofing, wide pressurized stairways, low-level emergency lighting, biological and chemical air filters are taken, to make the Freedom Tower the safest building in the world.

Final design chosen for Ground Zero

Article Abstract:

This article describes the new design chosen for the former World Trade Center site in New York City. The plan called Memory Foundations by Studio Daniel Libeskind of Berlin consists of a narrow tower of 1,776 ft tall, representing the year of American independence, an opera house, retail space, and office buildings.
