BSI Consultants was chosen by the city of Santa Cruz, CA, to supervise the reconstruction work along Pacific Avenue. The thoroughfare was damaged during the Loma Prieta earthquake. As construction manager, BSI would oversee all subcontractors, approve plans and specificationsand deal with city agencies. But its most sensitive task was communicating to property owners the progress of the reconstruction work. BSI hired a public relations firm to conduct an information campaign about the restoration being done. It also established a hot-line center and presented monthly status reports.
