Article Abstract:

The Bayport Container and Cruise Terminal under construction at the Port of Houston is a $1.2-billion plan to create what is expected to become the Gulf Coast's largest container terminal. Port of Houston Authority hopes that the project by combining container and passenger facilities would meet the increasing demand for containerized cargo services and expand its passenger cruise business.

Highways: floating road makes flooded areas passable

Article Abstract:

The flood control measures in Netherlands have also inspired the development of a transportation system known as a floating road. These floating roads are built with the help of aluminum boxes that are partially filled with polystyrene to keep them afloat, and can be easily transported by truck.

Infrastructure improvements to restore shrinking sea

Article Abstract:

The infrastructure project that is led by Kazakhstan's water resources management agency and the World Bank are restoring the shrinking northern sea, which is a smaller part of Aral Sea. The strategies employed for restoring the shrinking sea are discussed.
