The restructuring of the UK Spring Research and Manufacturers' Assn has created two new organizations serving the spring industry. These are the UK Spring Manufacturers Assn (UKSMA) and the Institute of Spring Technology (IST). The UKSMA is a trade organization representing the interests of the spring manufacturing industry while the IST is a technical center that will conduct research on all areas of the spring industry supply chain.
