Strain hardening response of sintered porous iron tubes with various initial porosities under combined tension and torsion

Article Abstract:

The elastic-plastic strain hardening response of sintered porous iron tubes under tension and torsion is studied. The tubes are subjected to pure torsion, pure tension and a combination of both stresses. Experimental data was compared to results from computations based on existing constitutive theories. Both methods are accurate in determining elastic-plastic strain hardening response with only slight differences occurring between experimental and theoretical values.

Densification forming of alumina powder - effects of power law creep and friction

Article Abstract:

High temperature forming processes of alumina powder compacts were examined by constitutive formulas which can calculate densification and grain growth under diffusional creep and power law creep. Experimental findings for alumina powder compacts were contrasted with finite element computations by applying the constitutive equations. The effects of friction between alumina powder compact and punches during sinter forging of alumina powder compacts were also studied.

Elastic-plastic response of sintered porous iron under uniaxial strain cycling

Article Abstract:

The elastic-plastic behavior of porous metal under uniaxial strain cycling between any two fixed values of strain is studied. Experiments are carried out wherein porous specimens are subjected to axial strain using a servohydraulic tester. Anumerical approach is then employed to analyze the same materials. Excellent agreement is observed between the experimental and computational results.
