Synthesis and properties of size-expanded DNAs: Toward designed, functional genetic system

Article Abstract:

The description of the design, synthesis and properties of DNA-like molecules in which the base pairs are expanded by benzo homologation is presented where the resultant size-expanded genetic helices are known as xDNA or expanded DNA and yDNA or wide DNA. They are suited for components of new, functioning genetic systems, and fluorescence of expanded DNA bases can also be used in analyzing nucleic acids.

Optical detection of DNA and proteins with cationic polythiophenes

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the technique of fluorescence chain reaction (FCR), a new approach that is used for the optical detection of DNA and proteins with cationic polythiophenes. The described process is found to be very simple and efficient, as it does not employ any chemical manipulations and experimental procedures to obtain the result.
