Synthesis molecules as antibody replacements

Article Abstract:

The study reviews efforts to overcome limitations of rarely exhibiting the high affinity and specificity typical of good antibody facile, high-throughput methodology for the isolation of synthetic protein ligands with antibody-like binding characteristics. Further the data suggesting that bivalent ligands may provide the most effective general strategy to access the synthetic compounds are presented.

Structure-function relationships of EcDOS, a Heme-Regulated Phosphodiesterase from Escherichia coli

Article Abstract:

Recent studies have revealed a new class of heme enzymes, the heme-based sensors, which are able to turn on or off cellular signal transduction pathways in response to environmental changes, one of these enzymes is the heme-regulated phosphodiesterase from Escherichia coli (EcDOS). Findings on the structure-function relationships of EcDOS is reviewed.

Lipid-protein interactions revealed by two-photon microscopy and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The use of two-photon excitation microscopy and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy is reviewed in the study of lipid-protein interactions. These new methodologies and techniques are discussed and the examples of different complexity from qualitative to quantitative from simple model systems to studies in living cells are presented.
