Terminal island turnaround

Article Abstract:

The construction of a new container terminal, Pier T, at a cost of 525 million dollar, will include hazardous materials abatement, concrete dry dock filling, a 5,000 feet long concrete wharf, and a yard for trains. The design of the Pier T container terminal will be rectangular and encompasses 375 acres.

Ferry terminal replacement works around sensitive foundation

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the challenging project of replacing Whitehall Ferry Terminal in lower Manhattan, New York. The engineering calls for placing steel isolation sleeves in steel casings around the three subway tunnels and one highway tunnel located in the surroundings of the planned work.

Modular mooring

Article Abstract:

The modular hybrid pier concept of the US Navy allows structural longevity and has little effect on the environment during construction, use, and disposal. The structure allows a service life of up to 100 years and reduced energy and carbon dioxide emissions by 37%.
