The art of Charles R. Knight

Knight popularized in his paintings during the first half of the 20th century the theory that dinosaurs were asocial, unintelligent creatures. His paintings are still on display in museums such as Chicago's Field Museum of Natural History and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

Ada and the first computer

Article Abstract:

Ada made a significant contribution to computer science in the form of a program for computing the Bernoulli numbers. Her collaboration with computer pioneer Charles Babbage led to the publication of the first paper that discussed computer programming in full detail.

Redeeming Charles Babbage's mechanical computer

Article Abstract:

A full-size Babbage computing machine, built for the first time from the designer's original plans, performed its first calculation successfully. The design and development of Babbage's mechanical calculators are described.
